God has shown it to them

...because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
— Romans 1:19

Many times, as you share the Gospel of Christ you will encounter those who say that they don’t believe in God or the Bible. We may think therefore, that quoting the Bible is useless in presenting our faith to such a person. However, the scripture above is the ground we stand on, knowing with full assurance they have personally witnessed the glory of a higher power. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says as well that God has put the knowledge of eternity in men’s hearts! So what difference does all of this make? Many have told me in the past “I don’t know enough about the Bible to be effective” or “what if they ask me a question I can’t answer?” As we go into the prisons to share the Gospel, we can be confident that the person we are speaking to:

  1. Sees God’s glory in creation

  2. Deep in their heart, they believe in eternity

  3. They have no peace in their heart without Christ!

It is with this knowledge we can proceed to share in faith, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, that God has a plan and a purpose for this person’s life. We also know from scripture that God has ordained us to be there, at that time, sharing the good news of Salvation in Christ. So as we share, we can be confident that no matter what they believe, we have these truths working for us. We don’t have to be theologians or experts at presenting the gospel, we just need to be available to be used by God.

There are still a few days left to sign up for the February Crusade at the Powledge unit in Palestine, which is our next event. Powledge is a medical unit and we have been going there for years. They have a strong church and we have many friends there, which usually makes for a good crusade. More details can be found on our crusade events page.

I am excited to see what God has in store this year as we move forward in ministry to those incarcerated. Each year we are stretching a little more in our schedule, and in our giving to the necessities of the inmates and chaplains. Next week we will be upgrading the AV system at the Plane State Jail, for starters, to improve the quality of the presentation there, and I hope to increase our gifts of hygiene supplies to units as the year goes on.

Your gifts to the ministry help facilitate these things as well as the preaching of God’s Word! Thanks to all that stand with us in this labor of love that God has called us to.

May God richly bless you as you serve Him with your whole heart
Your servants for His sake,
Brad, Debi, and Family
