Almost Spring greetings in the Name of the Lord

And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.
— 1 John 2:28

As I was clicking through the news this week on the internet a certain tag line caught my attention, “Israeli building minister says the time is now to build the third temple”! I listened intently to the news report and heard it spoken by the minister himself (Uri Ariel), and an excitement filled my spirit! This is the first time in two thousand years these words could possibly have been spoken, and that by an official minister of the relatively young Israeli government.

In my mind this is huge! We know that the Jews have been preparing for many decades now to rebuild the temple, but never has it been spoken of officially. Mainly because of the obstacle of the mosque that now stands on the temple mount. The third holiest site in Islam would have to be destroyed or moved for the temple to be built and only God could accomplish that. The evidence of Christ’s soon return is unveiling before our eyes, Matt.24:15 says there will be a third temple, as well as II Thes. 2:3-4 and Rev. 11:1-2. So as the verse above encourages us, let’s be found abiding in Him (Jesus) so that we won’t be ashamed at His coming!

As for ministry opportunities, we had a preaching service at the Henley State Jail last Sunday with about fifty ladies in attendance. Of those there were about ten professions of faith in Christ and about two dozen re-commitments to the Lord as well! PTL! Diana Gulski came as part of the team and led in worship as well as shared her testimony, and the service concluded with a wonderful time of individual prayer with the women.

Again some will say, “this is just jailhouse religion” and many doubt the sincerity of these professions. For that reason I want to share a couple of excerpts from the many hundreds of letters we get throughout the year:

Luzette writes, “The Sunday you guys came to preach at our prison was the first time I had attended church here in TDCJ. I kept putting it off! My friends would go and I would stay behind. I’m glad I decided to go that Sunday because, like you said, I became a born again Christian. I loved the service, it gave me a sense of purpose. I will be forever grateful. Thank you so much!”

Michelle writes, “Thank you for leading me to Jesus, for your prayers and ministry, and for the Abundant Life book to help me on my journey.” This is it. This is the reason we go and share God’s Word and God’s love. This is the reason we endure the trials inside the prison system and outside in our personal lives. This makes all of the struggles and tearful prayers worth it. We see the Spirit of God move in hearts that are forever changed by the power of God! This is why God left us on this earth, to be co-laborers in HIS harvest! What a joy, what a privilege!
